A home-store chain has confirmed it will be opening it’s 75th shop at the former Somerfield site later this year.

A spokesman for The Range, which offers products covering DIY, homewares, furniture, lighting, arts & crafts and garden, has said work has already started on the London Road site, in Boston.

It is hoped the new store will create around 150 part-time and full-time jobs, from store and department managers to warehouse and admin staff.

Owner Chris Dawson said: “Boston is the perfect location for us as a company. We are very much looking forward to the move. There is much more to come and it won’t stop here, that I can guarantee you.

“We are very pleased to be able to create a number of local jobs and are confident this store will play a huge part in the continued success of The Range brand across the UK.

“I would like to thank the council for welcoming us to Boston with such open arms. We would like to welcome the locals to the store opening, so they can see first-hand, what we are about and the great quality and value products we can offer them.”

The chain has opened five stores across England and Wales this year following on from 11 in 2012.

An official opening date has yet to be released.
