A BOSTON borough produce company has featured on a Channel 4 show following a visit from a celebrity farmer.
Staff at TH Clements were taken aback when they were visited by TV farmer and ‘foodie’ Jimmy Doherty.
Jimmy spent a day filming at the company’s Benington pack house and surrounding farms as part of his new programme Jimmy’s Grow Your Own Christmas.
Clements’ technical manager Jamie Chambers said: “It was a great pleasure to welcome Jimmy and the crew. He was truly amazed at the work that goes into producing and packing one of the year’s true delights. The sprout is a symbol of the festive period and Jimmy wanted to highlight the work that goes into producing the demand required for this time of the year.”
The programme charts the journey of the humble sprout, following the seasonal favourite from field through to the retailer.
The series will culminate in a Christmas lunch being cooked by Jimmy and his friend Jamie Oliver.
Mr Chambers was invited down to London to be a part of this festive dinner.
He added: “It’s not every day you have one of the most recognised chefs cooking for you in such close circles.”
The show, which started this week, is on Channel 4 on Mondays at 9pm.
