Young farmers rally round for county competition

LINCOLNSHIRE Young Farmers is holding its annual rally on Saturday (May 21) at Manor Farm, East Keal.

The county’s Young Farmers will be competing for the title Best Young Farmers Club in Lincolnshire.

It promises to be a fun-packed day of competition and activities for members, family and friends – and the general public are invited too.

Competition is divided into two sections - working and exhibition - and runs from 10am-5pm.

The working section includes: bed racing, pillow fight, stock judging, water in the wellies, tug of war and fancy dress obstacle courses.

The exhibition classes are made before the rally and demonstrate a wide range of skills including floral art, cookery, woodwork, scrap sculptures and art.

Points are won in each class and these count towards different trophies to be presented at the end of the day.  

The overall champion trophy will be presented to the club whose members have won the most points.

There will be a wide selection of trade stands from local businesses at the rally.

Refreshments are available throughout the day.

Lincolnshire Young Farmers is made up of 17 clubs that are spread throughout the county.

There is a countywide total of more than 500 individuals with an age range of 10 to 26.
