The man who set up a central government e-petition calling for Boston to get its long-awaited bypass has now taken the fight to the county council.

Chris Mountain initially put a petition on the gov.uk website where it has currently attracted more than 1,000 signatures.

The petition on Lincolnshire County Council’s site needs to attract 3,500 signatures for it to be debated.

Mr Mountain said: “Traffic now is worse than ever and continues to get worse. We need this problem sorting once and for all not in 10 to 15 years.”
