Car leaves ‘large hole’ in pub wall

A ‘RATHER large hole’ was caused to a pub today (Tuesday) after a vehicle crashed into its wall.

The collision between the Vauxhall Astra and the Horse and Jockey, Coningsby, in Silver Street happened at around 11.30am.

A police spokesman said the vehicle left a car park between Park Lane and Silver Street but didn't stop.

An 87-year-old man and his 88-year-old female passenger were 'shaken' and taken to Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, for check up, but not believed to be seriously injured.

The spokesman said: “The road was closed for structural engineer to check out a 'rather large hole' the in pub wall, amid fears wall could collapse.”
