A third group of suspected illegal immigrants - including two children - have been found hiding on another refrigerated Spanish lorry bound for the Boston area.
The lorry driver was alerted to the stowaways at about 1pm yesterday – while parked in a layby near McDonalds roundabout on the A16 at Spalding.
The four people, 43-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman and two young boys aged 10 and two, are all from Iran.
They were suffering from the effects of cold and taken to Pilgrim Hospital as a precaution.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “They were in terribly cold conditions - which just shows how desperate some people are to get to this country.
“They will be placed in the care of the UK Border Agency and taken to immigration detention.”
The supply lorry, carrying chilled broccoli and cabbages, was on its way to a commercial company in Butterwick.
This latest incident comes just days after The Standard brought you the news of two other Spanish lorries bound for Boston - which were found to be carrying suspected illegal immigrants.
They were all men, from Iran, Syria and Vietnam.
