A church in New York, Boston, is to mark its 200th anniversary at the weekend.
St Peter’s Church at Wildmore, New York, will hold a flower festival on Saturday and Sunday with the theme ‘an English garden’.
As part of the celebrations, one of the oldest houses in the parish, called Frog Hall, is opening its garden at the same time. This is located just up the road from the church, on the B1192.
A spokesman for the event said: “This delightful garden is hidden by the roadside hedge and a real treat to view and explore and it even has a garden nursery next door which will be open for plant sales.
“Traditional refreshments will be available at the church to enjoy once you have taken in the amazing displays on offer. Parking is available for both sites.
“Following the last day of the festival, the Bishop of Grimsby will be leading ‘Songs of Praise’ at 6pm on the Sunday.”
