OLYMPIC spirit was rife at Boston College’s Paralympics-inspired Para Games event last week.
Special needs pupils from eight schools and colleges across Lincolnshire took part in the games at the Princess Royal Sports Arena (PRSA).
Each school was representing a different nation – with Boston College students representing Great Britain – and each competed in a variety of track and field events.
Achieving the most gold medals on the day was Lincoln College, representing Brazil. Second was The Priory School, Spalding, representing China, with Boston College was placed third.
A special day to celebrate Olympic values and different cultures was also held at the PRSA with more than 250 staff and pupils from the college and specially-invited schools and colleges.
Visitors were able to try out cultural activities such as henna painting, traditional dancing and meditation.
The event was brought to Boston by St Philip’s Multi Faith Centre in Leicester and funded by the Migration Impact Fund.
