The Butterfly Hospice shares its latest news from the project:
The Butterfly Hospice Trust provides education and training.
The Hospice in Rowan Way, Boston, is now the venue for a series of educational sessions for clinical and social care professionals.
Starting with a workshop in End of Life Care for people with Dementia the Hospice facilities are developing as a health education centre for local groups and professionals.
Working with the University of Sheffield, Education for Health and other organisations, future workshops will cover breaking bad news, general and specialist palliative care and care at the end of life, amongst other topics
In partnership with local groups, other charities and professional associations the Butterfly Hospice is centrally placed as a health education centre for the local community.
In addition, the Hospice holds the weekly meeting of the Clinical Palliative Care multi disciplinary team (MDT).
The MDT is a fully integrated team with representatives from hospital and community healthcare.
Membership includes the specialist palliative care consultant, community Macmillan nurses, hospital specialist nurses, and community nursing services. The MDT provides input into hospital admissions and discharges, discusses individual patient’s cases and agrees the best care options for their patients.
This progress presents a great opportunity for local people to get involved and offer to support their local hospice.
Every contribution and gesture of help will make an incredible difference to the provision of services everyone is working to provide.
