It has today (Friday) been revealed the reason why the Boston Big Local paid figurehead resigned from her post recently.
In a letter leaked to The Standard, facilitator Rachel Lauberts expresses her ‘deep concern’ with the management of the project regarding a ‘lack of consultation and community engagement’.
She states that she has raised the opinions to Big Local representatives including Ivan Annibal who has been leading the group.
However, in the letter, she said: “My opinions have been ignored which has resulted in me feeling disempowered and disillusioned. I joined this project because I believed that it was going to be, and clearly should be, resident led and felt that it was a fantastic opportunity for Boston. “
She continues: “Having been appointed as the Facilitator for Boston Big Local I have naturally made it my business to do extensive research in to the process and procedures as laid down in all the guidelines under the Big Local Trust, from starting the conversation right though to completing and submitting the Big Local Plan.
“My decision to resign is based purely on the facts of how Boston Big Local should be conducted, and despite many efforts on my part to follow the correct guide-lines, I have often met with obstruction and dismissal which has made my position as Facilitator untenable. Regardless of the outcome of the current investigation into the Rep I feel that I am no longer prepared to support this project.”
It is understood she has raised a series of questions about Ivan Annibal, to Renaisi, the company who train and supply the reps on behalf of the Local Trust, who are investigating.
When called by the Standard, Big Local representative Ivan Annibal said: “I’m fine, but it’s Good Friday so you’ll have to call me back on Monday, my friend.”
The phone then went dead.
