QUADRANT: Why was the PRSA not chosen?

Several residents and councillors called for the football club to instead relocate to the Princess Royal Sports Arena.

Members were told the PRSA is not an option because:

○_ Some of the surrounding land - which would be needed for the ‘enabling development’ is either not on the marker or is in agricultural use

○_ The stadium land at the Quadrant has been leased by the church bringing down the cost

○_ There are poor transport links to the PRSA

○_ The stadium itself would conflict with the other PRSA users and would impact on the way they could run.

Coun Derek Richmond said even if the land was available he did not think the site was suitable - with rugby league and union both now played there.

Kirton Storage and Distribution Park was also discounted.
