A controversial proposal to convert part of a detached house in Boston to an off-licence was withdrawn from discussion at a meeting of the borough council’s planning meeting.

Mr J. Jankovskis’ change-of-use scheme for part of The Gambles on Broadfield Lane has attracted objections from neighbours fearful of noise, nuisance and litter.

It was due to be recommended for refusal by planning officers mindful of the risk of congregation leading to anti-social behaviour.

No reason was given for the withdrawal of the item from Tuesday’s agenda, and it is not known if it will be considered at a future meeting.
