A county councillor says a range of measures are needed in 2014 to protect the area from from future flooding.
Coun Chris Pain is calling for raised sea defences, offshore rock reefs, rock groins and head lands and ‘beach replenishment’. He says the measures are vital to save homes and help the area’s economic fortunes.
Coun Pain said: “The threat of flooding, effects investment into the area. This also puts a grave risk to our homes and involves a serious problem for the thousands of caravans in the area. There is also a very serious risk of damage to some of the best arable land in the country which provides over 20 per cent of our countries produce.”
Coun Pain asked for anyone with suggestions to prevent flooding to contact him by email on firstname.lastname@example.org
