A project to develop a memorial in Boston for the county’s road accident victims has already received more than £1,000 of donations.

The memorial is planned to be built in Boston’s Westgate Woods.

Churches Together in Boston has given £1,000 towards the project and further ‘individual donations’ of cash have been made.

Anne Bourne, of Boston, lost her daughter in a crash in which four people died and five children were left without their mothers. Her other daughter was seriously injured in the incident.

Anne said: “I was lost for words when the £1,000 was donated. And it has been so nice to have donations from individuals.

“This is a very personal initiative and it will be very close to the hearts of those who support it.”

Donations to the appeal can be sent to the following acount at Lloyds Bank: Louise and Sarah Memorial Fund, sort code 30-91-04,account number 01303486.
