21-year-old woman dies in New York collision

A WOMAN has died and several other people were seriously injured in a three-car collision in New York.

The 21-year-old, from Whaplode, was a passenger in a blue Citreon Saxo, which collided with a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a green Volkswagen Polo at around 10.50pm on the B1192.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second female passenger and the male driver, who are both from Boston, sustained serious injuries in the collision.

The driver of the Corsa - an 18-year-old man from Dogdyke, suffered serious head injures and was taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Two 17-year-olds, who were passengers in the Corsa, were taken to Pilgrim Hospital with less serious injuries and the driver of the Polo, a 17-year-old Coningsby man, was uninjured.

The road was closed until 7.10am the following day while police investigated and the scene was cleared.
