A WINNING lottery scratchcard has been snatched from her hand of an 82-year-old woman by an opportunist thief in Boston.
The woman had been returning home from the Lincolnshire Co-op, in Woodville Road, with her winning £800 scratchcard.
On reaching Staniland Road, she called out the good news to a neighbour and was attempting to show the scratchcard to them through a window when a person in dark clothing rode past on a bicycle and snatched the card from her hand.
The offence took place on Friday, February 18, about 2pm.
Pc Mark Potts said: “The card had been reported stolen to the National Lottery and cannot be claimed by anyone else so we would urge the thief to do the decent thing and find some way of returning it to the victim or handing it in at a police station.”
