TWO men from Donington suffered ‘serious life-changing injuries’ in a crash on the A17 on Tuesday night.
The pair, aged 29 and 32, were in a Citroen Saxo that ended up in a ditch after a collision involving a silver Peugeot 106 at about 9.15pm.
The crash happened between Fosdyke Bridge and Holbeach and the driver of the Peugeot, a 22-year-old from Spalding, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
He has been released on bail until July 28. He was unhurt.
The Donington men were taken to Pilgrim Hospital and the 29-year-old later had to be transferred to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with extensive leg injuries.
A police statement said: “The Saxo left the carriageway and entered a ditch resulting in serious life-changing injuries to the occupants.”
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw either vehicle before the crash to contact the Collision Witness Hotline on 01522 558855.
