Burglars go on pub/restaurant crawl to Sleaford - string of food outlets targeted overnight

Foodie thieves have targeted a string of pubs, restaurants and food outlets in the south of the county overnight (Thursday/Friday).

Police are investigating a catalogue of damage and thefts from break ins stretching from Gosberton to Sleaford.

The Fortesque Arms pub in Billingborough was burgled overnight.

Two tablet computers were stolen, one of which was a Kindle Fire, along with a small quantity of cash which was in a dimpled glass pint mug with handle.

PCSO Sandra Brommell of Bourne and Billingborough neighbourhood policing team added: “We expect the glass to have been discarded! Has it been dumped or smashed near you?”

The Old Ship Inn up the road at Pointon was also burgled overnight. A rear door was said to have been forced and items stolen included a guitar and a little cash.

Hansens chocolate shop in Folkingham was also targeted by burglars. Again, a rear door was forced with a flat headed screw driver, but nothing was stolen. Refer to incident 103 of 09/03/17.

Two further eatery premises in Sleaford were also broken into overnight. Police say £500 was taken from a unit on Millstream Square, overnight sometime after 11pm the same night. Refer to incident 122.

Cash and several bottles of spirits were taken from premises on Southgate - again thought to have happened overnight. Refer to incident 41.

A pub in Gosberton and another in Gosberton Risegate, near Spalding were also broken into.

PCSO Brommell said: “We are appealing for witnesses, who may have seen something suspicious or know who the offenders are to call 101 and help police in solving these rural crimes. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
