A TEENAGER has been ordered to pay £40 after being caught in possession of cannabis.
Police found the class B drug in bush form belonging to student Keith Hunter following a raid at his Ingram Road home on August 8.
“Police executed a warrant and recovered a small amount of cannabis bush and a cannabis grinder,” prosecutor Edward Johnson told Boston magistrates on Wednesday.
“He immediatelt accepted the items belonged to him.
“He alkso indicated on top of a grandfather clock was a further amount of the drug.”
In defence, Philippa Chatterton said the 19-year-old Bostonian was an ‘occasional user’ of the drug.
She also said he should be commended for his honesty.
Miss Chatterton added: “The house police attended is a multiple occupancy premises.
“He immediatelt admitted the small amount was his.
“Without his assistance, police would not have been able to pinpoint him.”
Hunter pleaded guilty to possession of the drug. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £40 costs. Magistrates ordered the drug and grinder be destroyed.
