LINCOLNSHIRE’S Chief Constable is believed to have become the first in the country to go online as a ‘tweeter’.
Richard Crompton opened his Twitter account on Monday and within a few hours had more than a hundred followers.
“It’s a great way of direct communication,” Chief Constable Crompton said. “It’s instant, it’s brief and will reach a wide audience.”
His first tweet announced his new national role for the Association of Chief Police Officers in the way heritage crime is dealt with.
