Flower theft leaves Easter garden in jeopardy

ST NICHOLAS’ Church has been left in a blooming mess, after thieves stole flowers bought for use in the Easter garden.

Two trays of primulas had been left outside the vicarage in Skirbeck Road, ready to be put in the garden on Good Friday.

But at the end of last week, when Father Noble stepped outside his front door, he found that the blooms had gone.

He told The Standard: “We’re going to have to buy lots of new flowers, otherwise we won’t have an Easter garden.

“We’re going to have to be very careful where we store the flowers in future.”
