A LOVERS’ TIFF left a young Butterwick man facing magistrates last week.
Christopher Skinner, of School Lane, and his girlfriend began shouting and swearing at one another during an argument on August 18, which eventually turned into a physical fight, the prosecution said.
In defence, Beris Brickles said she had thrown the first punch, and Skinner, 22, was merely retaliating to the attack.
Skinner admitted a charge of using threatening words or behaviour.
On Wednesday magistrates fined him £55 and ordered him to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
