Man, 80, knocked off mobility scooter

AN EIGHTY-year-old man was knocked off his mobility scooter in Wyberton by a driver who then fled the scene.

The elderly man was travelling along Low Road at about 12.33pm on Sunday when he was knocked off by a motorist who then drove away.

A police spokesman said the victim, who is thought to be from Boston, was not seriously injured and he was checked over at Boston Pilgrim Hospital before being sent home.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old Boston man, later went to the town’s police station where he was arrested for failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

He was released on bail until the end of March.
