Man blames splitting up with girlfriend for aggressive behaviour to police

SPLITTING up with his girlfriend has been given as the reason why a man became aggressive with police officers when he was drunk.

Special constables had tried in vain to ask Krystof Gidevic to leave Central Park, after he refused to leave the space when it was closing.

But the 26-year-old lashed out at the officers – even attempting to strike one of them, Boston Magistrates’ Court was told.

They eventually had no choice but to arrest the Haven Meadows resident for being drunk and disorderly in a public place, prosecutor Jim Clare said.

Krystof, who was not represented by a solicitor, admitted the offence when he appeared before magistrates on Wednesday.

He said, through an interpreter: “I was quite angry because I had split up with my girlfriend.

“I was drinking in the park and I didn’t mean to hit anyone.”

Magistrates sentenced Krystof to a nine-month conditional discharge.
