A man hit his partner on the back of her head after she refused to give him rent money to buy alcohol, a court has been told.
Alexandras Petrunins started shouting at his partner and being verbally abusive when she said she would not give him any more money to buy drink.
When she tried to walk away from the argument, he followed her into the kitchen and struck her on the back of the head, Boston Magistrates’ Court was told.
On Wednesday, the 31-year-old pleaded guilty to assault by beating on December 14.
Rebecca Ritson, prosecuting, said Petrunins had given his partner some money for rent, but took some back to buy booze. When he asked for more, she refused and he got annoyed.
At one point in the dispute, his brother had to stand between the pair to stop them fighting.
In mitigation, Beris Brickles said the couple had been together for four years and have a very young baby.
He added that the woman had tried to contact Petrunins, of Joy Paine Close, Boston, on several occasions, despite an order being in place stopping him from speaking with her.
Magistrates requested the probation service to produce a report on the case before sentencing.
