A 30-year-old man accused of a New Year’s Day murder was this afternoon (Monday) remanded in custody when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court.
Ricardas Mazeika of Laughton Road, Boston, followed proceedings with the assistance of a Lithuanian interpreter during the five minute hearing.
Mazeika is charged with the murder of 41-year-old Deimantas Strelciunas following an incident on New Year’s Day.
Mazeika was arrested after police were called to an address in St Ann’s Wharf, Boston, where paramedics were treating a man for injuries. Mr Strelciunas was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was no application for bail at today’s hearing and Judge Michael Heath remanded Mazeika into custody to appear back at the Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing due to take place in April.
