A man has been treated for a stab injury following a suspected attempted robbery near the Sluice Bridge in Boston last night (Monday).
Police were called to the Gassy Pad area shortly after 10pm after a 46-year-old man was assaulted.
A spokesman said the victim, understood to be from the Fenside area, was treated at Boston Pilgrim Hospital for a stab injury, where he currently remains.
A short time later, a 25-year-old man, also understood to be living in Boston, was arrested by police on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and attempted robbery.
The spokesman said he was found to be suffering from ‘minor self-inflicted injuries’ and is also currently receiving treatment in hospital under police guard.
A scene guard is in place in the area of the bridge.
