A THIRTY-eight-year-old foreign national is being treated in hospital for a serious head injury after being hit by a car on a Boston road.
The incident took place in Broadfield Street shortly after 9pm on Saturday and was reported to the emergency services by passing pedestrians.
It is believed the man was lying in the road when he was struck by a red Toyota car.
Police and ambulance attended the scene and the man was taken to Pilgrim Hospital for treatment.
Today (Tuesday) his condition was described as stable.
Police are investigating the incident and are not ruling out the possibility the man was assaulted prior to the collision.
A 56-year-old Wyberton man was been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after an accident and later released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who has information about the circumstances leading up to the collision and how the victim came to be lying in the road.
