THE Boston man wanted in connection of the murder of Janusz Smoderek has been arrested.

Stephen Anthony Sleaford, 37, was arrested today (Thursday) in the Barnsley area following a joint operation between the Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire Forces.

Mr Sleaford will now be questioned at Boston police station by Lincolnshire detectives in relation to the death of Mr Smoderek on Sunday, September 11.

Mr Smoderek, a Polish national and father-of-three, was found in a garden in Sleaford Road with multiple stab wounds.

A 26-year-old woman from Barnsley has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and will be questioned by by police.

Det Supt Stuart Morrison said: “I am grateful for the cooperation of the public who have contacted us with information about possible sightings.”
