MURDER TRIAL UPDATE: Stephen Sleaford found guilty of murder

Stephen Sleaford has this afternoon been handed a life sentence with a minimum tariff of 23 years after being found guilty of the murder of Janusz Smoderek.

Sleaford, 38, of no fixed address, denied stabbing the 48-year-old Polish flower packer to death in Boston on September 11 2011,

He had told the court he had gone to the aid of a teenage girl in Sleaford Road who was being ‘molested’ by Mr Smoderek but did not go on to kill him.
