Murder charge denied as case goes to trial

A BOSTON man denied murdering a father-of-three when he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday.

Stephen Sleaford, 38, of no fixed address, is accused of the murder of Polish-born 48-year-old Janusz Smoderek on September 11.

Mr Smoderek, who lived in Boston and worked at a local vegetable packing firm, was found stabbed in a garden in Sleaford Road.

Stephen Ebbutt, 43, of Ingelow Avenue, Boston, and Natisha Nodder, 36, of Skirbeck Road, Boston, each denied perverting the course of justice in relation to the murder.

No plea was taken from a fourth defendant, Peter Parrish ,25, of Spilsby Road, Boston, who is accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm to Mr Smoderek.

The case was adjourned for a further hearing in April.

Sleaford and Parrish were remanded in custody. Ebbutt and Nodder were granted bail.
