A dangerous prisoner who has been on the run from HMP North Sea Camp for almost two months has been arrested in London.

Ivan Leach – also known as Lee Cyrus – was picked up by police in the Camden area of the capital in the early hours of yesterday morning.

He is wanted in connection with a string of offences.

The 47-year-old has been the target of a nationwide man hunt in recent months, after he failed to return to the Freiston Shore prison on October 9 while on day release.

He was in prison for robbery and had previous convictions for having sex with a 13-year-old and attacking somebody with a screwdriver.

He was believed to have travelled to the Preston area, where he is originally from, and is thought to have spent time in Scotland, Nottingham and London, among other areas.

While at large police warned members of public not to approach him under any circumstances.

He remains in custody at a London police station.
