North Sea Camp prisoner is charged for attempted knife attack and sexual assault

An inmate from North Sea Camp Open Prison has been charged with the attempted knife attack and sexual assault of a woman.

Police attended an incident at Queen Elizabeth Park, Manthorpe Road in Grantham at around 1pm on Friday following reports that a woman had been approached and threatened by a man.

The woman was not physically injured.

Officers attended the park and arrested 26-year-old Nicky Suddons, 26, who was on day release from the prison in Freiston Shore.

Lincolnshire Police has charged him with possession of a bladed article and common assault with the intention of committing a sexual offence.

He has been remanded into custody to appear before Lincoln Crown Court on July 15.
