Open prison absconder charged with indecent exposure, knifepoint robbery, burglary and serious assaults

A serious offender who absconded from North Sea Camp open prison has been charged with 13 offences.

The Metropolitan Police charged Lee Cyrus (also known as Ivan Leach) on Thursday in Camden with offences ranging from indecent exposure to GBH, knifepoint robbery and aggravated burglary.

Cyrus sparked a nationwide manhunt when he walked out of the Freiston Shore open prison on October 9 where he was serving time for a robbery.

Two of his offences date to the time when he was still at the open prison.

Cyrus, 48, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 22, at 10 am charged with the following:

*Indecent Exposure, on September 8 2012 in Lincolnshire;

*Indecent Exposure, on September 15 2012 in Lincolnshire;

*Indecent Exposure, on October 24 2012 near Heath Brow, Camden;

*Indecent Exposure, on October 28 2012 in Hampstead Heath, Camden;

*Indecent Exposure, on October 28 2012 in Hampstead Heath, Camden;

*Indecent Exposure, on October 28 2012 in Hampstead Heath, Camden;

*Actual Bodily Harm, on November 2 2012 in The Vale of Health, Camden;

*Aggravated Burglary, on November 19 2012 in Rodborough Road, Barnet;

*Grievous Bodily Harm, on November 20 2012 in Gainsborough Gardens, Camden;

*Knifepoint Robbery, on November 30 2012 in Maybury Mews, Haringey;

*Residential Burglary, on December 1 2012 in Woodstock Road, Barnet;

*Grievous Bodily Harm, on December 2 2012 in Oakshott Avenue, Camden;

*Indecent Exposure, on December 2 2012 in Lulot Gardens, Camden.
