Insp Phil Clark stands among some of the 1,425 plants - capable of producing hundreds of thousands of pounds of the drug - found at the Waggoners Rest on November 16 after passing police noticed a light.

Vietnamese gardeners staying at the site Hung Quoc Tran, 22, and An Van Nguyen, 30, were each sentenced to two years in prison for unlawful production of the drug at Lincoln Crown Court last Monday.

Insp Phil Clark said: “The discovery of the production facility occurred as a direct result of the pro-active work of uniformed officers based at Boston. This is the largest seizure of cannabis plants that I have witnessed in 20 years of policing.”
