A play park in Coningsby has been hit by obscene graffiti in what police have described as ‘mindless vandalism’.

The offence took place some time between Thursday, March 27 and yesterday (April 1) in the village’s play park and involved green and black marker pens being used to write obscenities on wooden play equipment and a bench.

PCSO Alison Evans said: “The play park has only recently been refurbished at considerable expense so this mindless vandalism has caused great upset to the parents and children who use the park, and also the local council.

“The graffiti is very vulgar and offensive and the culprits have obviously given no thought to the fact that very young children will see it.”

PCSO Evans is urging anyone with information to contact her at Coninsgby Police Station by dropping by in person or calling 101.
