Police investigate ‘children carried on mobility scooter’ report

Police are investigating reports of a woman riding a mobilty scooter while carrying young children.

Officers have received reports of the activity along Horncastle Road, Boston, in which the woman, believed to be over the age of 60, has been seen allegedly riding along holding onto a baby with one arm.

The concerned resident who reported the sightings, claims the woman has also allowed a young child, thought to be aged about seven, to steer the scooter.

A spokesman for the police said: “There is legislation that makes it unlawful for children to be carried on a mobility scooter.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
