Residents in the Pulvertoft Road area of Boston are being urged to report anti-social behaviour after an incident with a group of men yesterday.
Police received a report from a woman who had ‘crude’ comments shouted at her in the street by a group of men at about 9.30am.
However, police told The Standard that reports on Facebook suggesting the men had grabbed the woman and tried to drag her into an alleyway are not true.
A spokesman said: “A woman made a complaint that a group of men, who were in drink, shouted vulgar and crude comments at her - but they did not lay hands on her. “Their behaviour is undoubtedly intimidating and would be classed as anti-social behaviour - but this was not an attempted abduction.
“Reports on social media have been greatly exaggerated.”
They added that anyone who experiences anti-social behaviour in the area should call Boston Police by dialling 101 so officers can speak to those involved.
