Police are being given special powers to deal with anti-social behaviour over the weekend of Bonfire Night in Boston.

Boston police have announced a Dispersal Order will be in place from 7pm tonight (Friday) until 7pm Sunday following a large amount of incidents of anti-social behaviour reported around the town centre.

PCSO Natasha Ladbrook of Boston neighbourhood policing team said: “This is hopefully going to stop large groups of youths causing issues in the run up to Bonfire Night.

“This Dispersal Order will mean that we can ask people to leave the PSPO area for 48 hours and they are not allowed to return within this time.”

Anyone needing to report an incident should call 101 with any non-emergency incidents and 999 in the event of an emergency.

Police had reports of fireworks being let off around Queen Street. Read more here.

Anyone found using fireworks inappropriately faces a fixed penalty fine.
