AN 18-YEAR-OLD man has today been found guilty of murdering Coningsby pensioner David Cowley.
Aiden Jackson, who was 17 at the time of the incident, was accused of strangling the 67-year-old after he drove the teen to Ballast Pits in Sleaford.
It was alleged that the elderly man, who was openly gay, offered to give Jackson cash and phone credit in exchange for sexual acts.
During a case at Lincoln Crown Court Jackson pleaded guilty to manslaughter but denied murder. but today (Wednesday), a jury found him guilty of murder.
He has been remanded in custody until he returns to court for sentencing on October 20.
Det Supt Stuart Morrison said: “We hope this conviction offers some form of closure to the Cowley family and allows them to move on with their lives.
“I would like to pay tribute to the hard work of my team and the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) in bringing him to justice and we hope this demonstrates our determination to tackle serious violence in Lincolnshire.”
