Text messages sent between an estranged couple landed a Boston man in court last week.
Christopher Webster, of Red Lion Street, was found to have breached a non-molestation order by exchanging messages with his ex-partner, Boston Magistrates’ Court was told.
But the 22-year-old claimed he had just been responding to messages from the woman when he was reported to police on July 26.
Mark Hudson, defending, said Webster had been confused and upset as he felt he was being given mixed signals from his ex-girlfriend, with whom he had briefly resumed a relationship.
On Wednesday, Webster admitted breaching the order.
He was given a conditional discharge for six months and told to pay £40 towards court costs.
