Tractor driver denies causing death of motorist by careless driving

An 81-year-old tractor driver today (Monday) denied a charge of causing death by careless driving when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court.

Richard Ivan Lenton of West Fen, Stickney, was charged following an incident in which motorist Paul Evans died when his vehicle entered a water-filled ditch at Hobhole Bank, New Leake, following a collision on April 13, 2016.

Lenton pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Mr Evans by careless driving.

Judge John Pini QC adjourned the case for a trial due to commence on August 29, and Lenton was granted unconditional bail.
