UPDATE: Body recovered from Boston drain

11.45am: Police have confirmed a man’s body has been recovered from the Maud Foster Drain in Boston.

The discovery was made yesterday (Friday) by a member of public.

4.50pm: Police are investigating reports of a possible body seen in the Maud Foster Drain in Boston.

Officers say a member of the public said they thought they had seen a body in the Mount Bridge area this lunch time.

A spokesman said: “The Lincs Police Underwater Search Unit will be attending attended the scene but, at this stage, it is too early to confirm if there is a body in the water.”

2.30pm: Emergency services are currently in attendance at Mount Bridge in Skirbeck Road, Boston.

Members of the public have sighted several police cars as well as fire and ambulance crews.

The police are, as yet, unable to confirm the nature of their operation in the area.
