A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Boston.

Ricardas Mazeika, 30, of Laughton Road in Boston, is due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court this morning (Saturday).

A police spokesman said: “The victim is a foreign national whose relatives in his home country have not yet been traced. For this reason, we are not releasing his name at this time although it will be a matter of public record once the accused has appeared in court.”

Friday, 1.20pm: Police are investigating after a man died in Boston following an incident on New Years Day.

A force spokesman said police were called to St Anne’s Wharf at about 6.45pm on Thursday, January 1, where paramedics were treating a 41-year-old man for injuries.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 30-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently ‘assisting police with the enquiry’.

A post-mortem examination is set to take place ‘in due course’ and a scene guard remains at the address whilst forensic work is completed.
