UPDATE: Wrench-wielding robber threatens staff at petrol station

Police are on the hunt for a robber who grabbed cash from a petrol station till and threatened a staff member with a wrench.

The incident took place at Harvest Energy Filling Station, in High Street, Boston, at about 8.30pm on Wednesday.

The man was said to have walked into the petrol station and grabbed the money.

DC Berrington Goffe, from Boston CID, said: “This is a very serious offence.

“The offender threatened the member of staff with what appeared to be a large wrench. He was left uninjured but shaken.”

The offender is described as a white man, wearing a distinctive bright-red long-sleeved top and carrying a black holdall.

DC Goffe is appealing for any witnesses who may have seen a man fitting that description acting suspiciously in the vicinity.

A police spokesman said officers are currently examining CCTV footage from the site and nearby streets.
