The victim and suspect of an attempted robbery, which ended with them both being injured remain in hospital this morning (Wednesday).

Despite earlier reports saying the suspect of the incident, which occurred on Monday night, had left the hospital with police a force spokesman has now confirmed he still remains at Pilgrim Hospital under police guard.

The spokesman earlier told The Standard the pair are being kept on seperate ward areas, with the victim in a private room.

On Monday, police were called to the Gassy Pad area, near Sluice Bridge, shortly after 10pm after a 46 year-old man was assaulted.

The victim was treated at Boston Pilgrim Hospital for a stab injury.

A short time later, a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and attempted robbery. He was found to be suffering from minor self-inflicted injuries and was also taken to hospital.

Anyone with information which may help should call Boston CID on 101, quoting incident number 386 of March 2 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
