VIDEO: Market gold trader’s van raided and left burned out
Raiders made off with a van full of high value jewellery after targeting a Boston gold trader in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The owner of the stall, which trades in buying and selling gold, was loading his white Vauxhall Vivaro van at about 5.45am on Fenside Road on Saturday when three or four offenders approached him and stole the vehicle.
The van contained a significant haul of high value jewellery, including items being fixed for customers.
It was found a couple of hours later burned out at Lowfields Lane in Benington.
A 25 year-old man from Benington has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail until January 30.
DC Gary Dreher said: “We are appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact police in confidence.
“We would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw a blue Vauxhall Corsa that morning leaving the Fenside area towards Boston West and subsequently in the Benington area”.
Anyone with information should contact Lincolnshire Police by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 72 of November 3.
