A senior police officer has reassured residents that Boston is a safe place ‘to live and to work’ following a double murder on Sunday.
Acting Supt Kieran English described the events which led to the deaths of a 26-year-old woman and 26-year-old man as ‘tragic’ but said the people involved were not strangers and that this type of incident is very rare.
He said: “We have reduced crime significantly in this area and solved more crime in the last 12 months.
“Crime is coming down, so Boston is becoming a safer place to live and to work.”
He also revealed the third victim of the attack, who was taken to Pilgrim Hospital with minor injuries, has since been released and interviewed by officers.
