Your chance to help police make cuts to its budget

LINCOLNSHIRE Police is giving you the chance to help it decide where cuts should be made in its budget.

The authority is facing a 5.1 per cent cut in its main Government grant and has added a budget simulator to its website to encourage people to suggest which areas could provide savings.

Options include local policing, roads policing, specialist operations, intelligence and the police authority itself.

The results will be used to help the authority set its budget in February.

Chairman Barry Young said: “We place great importance on listening to, and reacting to, the concerns of all the county’s diverse communities.”
