Movie musicals performed by children of Allen School of Dance and Performing Arts have raised £6,261 for Boston Women’s Aid (BWA).

The dances, performed at Haven High Academy, included ballet, tap, modern jazz, gymnastic dance, hip hop, cheer dance, singing and drama.
BWA provides safe refuge and support to victims of domestic abuse.
Manager Lynn Mitchell said she was delighted the organisation was chosen for such a large donation. “Two members of staff attended a performance and were very moved by the brilliance of the young performers,” she said.
“The staff felt humbled by the warmth and empathy shown to them by everyone from the Allen School of Dance and by the audience.”

During 2012/13 BWA provided safe accommodation in their two refuges for 50 women and 80 children with no statutory funding.
